Student Spotlight: Sebastian Mascheroni
An international student born and raised in Paraguay, Sebastian Mascheroni is on his 3rd semester here at Westchester Community College. Majoring in Business Administration with a current GPA of 3.5, Mascheroni is already an established business person, owning two small businesses in Paraguay.
Mascheroni has two passions in life; business and his relationship with God. He hopes to execute a plan to create a Christian club here on campus for students who share a similar passion and are interested in coming together to discuss Christian ideology and the history of its religion and its figures.
Betesda, a name chosen from a chapter in the bible about healing, is one of his businesses focusing on renting and selling medical supplies. Betesda is near one of the largest hospitals in Asuncion, Paraguay. His second business, Guasu Bikes, is owned by Mascheroni and his brother, located in a big park, Parque Guasu, where they rent and sell bicycles.
Taking his education to the next level, WCC has helped him achieve more than he could have hoped for. “Westchester Community College is an excellent education for an affordable price,” Mascheroni says. “I am delighted about the high quality of professors on campus. I have learned not only from their excellent exposition of the textbooks, but also from their successful careers.”
His plan after he receives his Associates Degree is to return to Paraguay, and tend to his self-made businesses that he has acquired there while he studies Theology at CEMTA (Centro Evangelico Mennonite Theological Center Asuncion), a German University in Paraguay.
