Staff Council Holds Book Sale
The Staff Council held its book fair recently, selling scores of books and treats. The sale, held on November 19, is a seasonal sale the council holds each semester to offset their balances as well as raising funds for a scholarship.
Founded back in the 80’s, The Staff Council’s objectives are clear: Representing the staff’s needs and concerns to WCC’s administration.
To achieve this, the Staff Council provides professional development, and a forum for interdepartmental communication. The President of the Council, Edward Tatton III, strives to ensure that the WCC staff members are fairly recognized, as well as trained in the advances in technology for students.
“We are the face of the institution, so it’s important that students have a good first impression when dealing with Staff” says Tatton.
The council holds Lunch and Learn seminars, as well as a professional development conference over the Spring Break to prepare the staff members on how to tackle these issues.
The Staff Council exists for the good of helping those who work here at WCC, and the book sale helps aid the council in providing funds for their organization as well as reaching out to faculty members with get well soon baskets, team building events and more.
